Yerseke is a village located on the Oosterschelde in the municipality of Reimerswaal on Zuid-Beveland and counts 6830 inhabitants since January 1st 2016. Yerseke became an independent municipality on January 1st 1970. The village is best known for its mussel and oyster culture. Many tourists come to Yerseke to eat different seafood in one of the many restaurants in the village and also for guided tours of the oyster pits, the marina and the Oosterschelde Museum. Yerseke is also known for the annual Mussel Day. This is celebrated on the third Saturday of August.

Oyster tours are possible every day (in June to September) at 3 p.m. Advance booking is required. The boat trips are based on sufficient participation and depending on the weather conditions.
